Gone to War-Chapter Two

  Once I entered the infirmery I ran all the way to Forest's stretcher. I literally threw his mail at him and tore open the pink envolpe. "Letter for you huh?" Forest said not surprised, I nodded viguoressly while just shredding the paper until I got to a note written on lined notebook paper. I read the words 'Dear Zora' then droped the paper "I can't read this" I strained my voice, "Do you want me to read it to you?" Forest said sweetly, I nodded and handed him the paper. I sat down at the foot of the cot while he unwrikled the message.
"Ahem, 'Dear Zora, I don't even know what to say to my own daughter that has been abducted from school and forced into the military. All I can really say is I love you no matter what and remember that the whole family is on your side. We are litterally fighting to keep you alive, and to get you back home. Those people had no right to do that to you and the whole world knows it. The second we found out what happened we called Uncle Lawrence and we filed a law suit. We go into court tommarrow, everyone at your school wants to testomny even the news got ahold of our dilemma and the now the whole nation is fighting for you to come home. You not alone Zora, and we love you don't you ever forget that. But Uncle Lawrence said the only problem is that if and when we win the case the soonest you could come home is next year. You're-"
"Stop," I could listen anymore, tears were flowing down my face. "Oh lil' sis come here" I schooched over and sat on Forest's good thigh, he hug me for what seemed like an internity,
"Zora, every single soilder in this place thinks its wrong to keep you here," he whispered
"really?"
"uh-huh, they are worried about you as much as they are worried about their lives. You need to know that whatever is going on in Wakson's mind is only to protect America, even though its wrong beyond belif we all have to support our country somehow, and they way for you to support it is just to hope and pray that, that if jury has the least bit of common sense to know its wrong and set you free. You just need to find the power inside of you and use it to keep your pretty little head high"
His words hit me, like waking up on a school morning remembering that I didn't do anything for my book report that was assigned three months ago. I smiled "Thanks Forest"
"Your welcome lil' sis, now do you want me to finish the letter?"
"Okay"
I got up and dragged a chair over and plopped myself down.
"Ahem 'You're a strong girl Zora and I know that you can do it, I hate myself for saying this but the only thing you can do is to hang in there and pray. Your brother tried so hard that some soiders badly injured him. I don't want anymore of you to get hurt. Please Zora, promise you'll be careful? I'll write to you as much as I can. I love you forever. LOVE- Mum, Daddy, Raven, and Link'" Forest put down the letter. "You feeling the power now?"
Oh I felt it alright but it wasn't off pride it was off anger, vengence. How DARE General Wakson kiddnap me and keep me here against my will and danger my family. "He will rue the day Forest, he will RUE it" I growled. He chuckled
"He will rue it?"
"YES, whatever 'rue' means" I mumbled. Forest chuckled louder
"Good answer soilder, now go see to other patients that need attention" He said sternly pointing firmly at the other curtains. I nodded briskly and walked away.

The next day at 3:00 hrs

"Water bottles?"
"Check"
"All three first aid kits?"
"Check"
"Change of clothes?"
"Check"
"and a small pistol?"
"Check"
"Alright Zora looks like you're ready"
"Are you sure that you're ready? Don't you think you need more rest?"
"Trust me lil' sis I was born ready"
I giggled "Okay just stay in the bushes and shoot from there"
Forest nodded, "You ready for take off?"
"Yup"
Forest and I strapped ourselves in the helicopter and we took off for Japan. I'm extremly tired, but the other soliders seem to be wide awake and alert. After 4 hours of sleeping I got extremly bored. I looked around the cabin at the other soilders and one seem to have caught my eye. He was much shorter then the others, and seemed to look a little scared. I couldn't see his face due to the helmet he was wearing like the others. But his body language surly showed it. Plus he was shaking, a LOT. I nudged Forest and sort of used my head to point in the guy's direction. He nodded "Hey shorty," the guy pointed to himself "yeah you, you doing alright soilder?"
"I-I'm f-fine just a little c-cold" Forest nodded to him then looked at me and shrugged. I kept looking at the guy's body language. He was scared, hungry, and very tense. He look my way and we made eye contacted, wow his eyes are...amazing....whoa whoa look away Zora look away. Okay back to thinking, why would he be all those things? He's a full blown trained soilder. Wait a minute, it's not because he's cold. For one thing it's like 72 degrees in here. His voice cracked when he spoke, and he's smaller than the others, I gasped HE'S AND UNDER AGED KID! HE GOT KIDNAPPED TOO! I knew I wasn't mistaken if you look long enough he looks like he's just turned 15. How could no one have noticed that!? Well he WAS in this huge suit, but still! I quickly rummaged through my bag and took out a note pad and pencil. I scribbled something down and handed it to Forest. He quickly scimmed through it then nodded to me.
"Shorty, how old are you?" the boy pointed to himself again. Forest nodded.
"I'm uh I-I just... turned 15 yesterday" Yup I knew it, Forest looked at the boy for a while "well, uh happy birthday kid" "T-Thanks" Forest took the notepad and pencil and scibbled something down and handed it to me. -That Wakson is a sick man, I thought you were the only one! Don't you turn 15 in like a month?-  I wrote my reply and handed it to him -I know! I hate him so much! Btw a month and a week- He handed me the paper -meh tomatoe-tomatoe- I giggled a little bit. There was a rumble under my feet meaning we were landing. I stuffed the notepad in my bag and braced myself for landing.
